What is a New Issue Lease?

A new issue lease is the next rung up on the licensing ladder. You will take over the business in exactly the same way as a tenancy, but opposed to having a tenancy agreement, you will be granted a brand new assignable lease. The lease will normally be for a duration of 10-30 years, depending on your Landlord, and premium free. Most leases are tied to a supplier, and fully repairing and insuring, which means you will be responsible for ALL repairs and renewals, both to the furniture and fittings, and the building. As opposed to a tenancy, when you take on a lease, it is advised that you also call upon the services of a solicitor and surveyor, in both areas we can recommend suitable companies or individuals to you if required.
